Yes, there are surrounding cities outside of the infamous Las Vegas, Nevada. The media does an excellent job painting a beautiful picture around Vegas, and we agree it is just that, beautiful. Many of us who own the properties that are so heavily advertised in the media live in the surrounding cities on the outskirts of Sin City. Henderson is not only one of our favorite places, it is actually our home.
We love this place! The fact that it’s possible to dive 20-30 minutes south of the epicenter of gambling and shows and arrive at such a beautiful, quiet place like Henderson is unheard of. The first time we visited this beautiful little, before moving here, we were doing what we do best: selling and installing security systems. Without getting too specific we made our way into the Anthem area, a place where Del Webb has left his mark. When we were starting out as door-to-door salesman we expect to be treated differently by a wide variety of individuals. More often than not the treatment we received was less-than-ideal. We expected nothing different coming to Henderson for the first time. After about 10 doors we realized that we had found a ‘honey-hole.’ Not only was the city beautiful but the people could have been nicer! We were frequently offered water and snacks as well as an encouraging word to ‘keep hustling.’ It made us fall in love with this city.
Do I really need an alarm system?
No, you don’t.
It’s the truth. You never need something until after the fact. No one feels like they ‘need’ and alarm system until they’ve either been broken into, had a serious scare themselves, or heard of one of the surrounding communities having problems. It’s sad that this is the truth, but this often means that when individuals do decide to get a security system installed, usually including cameras, locks, and the rest, it’s too late.
Alarms do one thing very well: they give you peace of mind.
After a break-in, that peace of mind is gone. There is no return back to that state of mind. It will forever consume your thoughts. It will never go away. With time it will surely lessen and fade but you will always, till the day you die remember that experience. No level or layer of smart home security is going to give you that back. The only thing you can do to keep that peace of mind is prevent it.
That being said, it’s really a trick question. Yes you need a burglar alarm so you don’t lose your peace of mind, but no you don’t need one because no one thinks about this type of product or service until they are forced to do so.
Does LV Security Systems Offer the Same Service in Henderson?
A common misunderstanding in this industry (we’ll blame it on cell phone providers) is that certain perks and features are offered in some areas and not others. Without knowing how our smart home technology integrates with our advanced home security systems this is a forgivable mistake. Instead of cell providers let’s use internet service providers. For anyone who has ever moved from one location to another and tried to hook up their internet, this will be completely relatable. When I went from my college apartment to the first home I purchased, I naively assumed that I couldn’t easily continue service at my new location. Ah, if that would have only been the case I would have slept so much better at night. Upon moving into the newly purchased home I called my current provider up and asked when we could begin the installation process and get the internet up and running. It was then that I was informed my area did not have the coverage and I would have to go elsewhere.
This would have been fine and dandy except for the fact that I had signed a three year contract. I was beside myself, I was extremely upset and ready to take legal action. I was then informed of the agreement I had signed just a year prior, swallowed my pride, and realized that regardless of how mad I was, I wasn’t going to win that one in court.
Why am I telling you this and how does that have to do with your wireless security or camera system? I tell you this story to show you how far things have come. The cellular technology we use affords us the opportunity to install a home automation package anywhere in the Henderson area that has a power source. That may initially appear unrealistic and you may wonder how some of the pieces communicate with one another. To this we advise you to spend your time worrying about other, more important issues. Our systems work. Our home security system with cameras is the only part of the package that will not work to its full capabilities without a wifi connection. The camera and the phone must have some way of communicating with one another and that is where the wifi comes in.
Home Security Contracts and Moving
In nothing short of an attempt to save ourselves the headache of answering this question 10 more times in the next 48 hours, let’s settle this once and for all. Home security providers in Las Vegas and Henderson (and anywhere for that matter) require a commitment. The contract on a home alarm system is directly correlated with how robust your smart home system is and how much equipment you are given up-front. It baffles me that there are homeowners out there that still believe in the word free. It doesn’t exist, there is never anything that is given up without something being required in return. How can one assume that there are real business out there giving free systems away with nothing required in return?
If you’re new to the home security game, here’s how we make money. We offer you a great deal on a system, not a free one but a great deal. Theoretically this is meant to entice you to sign up for one of our packages for five years. The magic number for us is five years because first we take the cost of the locks, light controls, thermostats, cameras, sensors and panel. After which we add the cost of the installation, the salesman’s cut, and combine that with many other things. We then divide that total cost by our reasonable monthly rate, add something for us on top and come up with the 60 months. Here’s something you may not know: we make next to nothing on this 60 month agreement. Compared to the work we put into acquiring you as a customer we can’t stay in business with this model.
Home automation and security companies make money because the average homeowner with an alarm system will have the system for 10 years. It’s the second 60 month term that allows us to make great money and incentivizes us to stay in business. Make sense?
We get that you probably won’t be in the same home in five years. Maybe it’s a job, perhaps it’s for family, and there’s always a chance you just feel like moving somewhere new. Whatever the reason, understand that we get it. If you decide to up and move anywhere in the United States, we will transfer your service to the new home. Typically our policy is that if you decide to resign with us on the spot and start a new 60 month term, we will waive the installation fee. Yes it does cost money when someone comes out to your home and does work, remember the free thing we just talked about?
If you aren’t interested in resigning another agreement, that understandable. The installation fee with range from $99-$198. Don’t worry, we don’t make you take the old stuff with you either. The process is simple and it requires you taking your panel off the wall with the help of our easy how-to guide. When you arrive at the new address, give us a jingle and we will schedule a visit as fast as we possibly can.
